When Rita of Hurron Highlands in Ann Arbor, Michigan wanted to boost sales for Cheeky Spices, she started local with her Nextdoor neighbours and saw big sales.
To me, Nextdoor is an online word-of-mouth platform. If you're not plugged into the conversation on Nextdoor, you're missing an opportunity to get your customers engaged with each other. None of my other social media has had the positive business impact of Nextdoor. Not even close.
Nextdoor Ads are a great way to reach your community, to build rapport, and to gain the respect and trust from your community members.
If you trust your neighbours, you trust the people they recommend. The real value [to my business] comes from what people are saying on Nextdoor, from the recommendations from the community.
Word of mouth is really big for me and that’s where Nextdoor comes in. People go "I trust what my neighbours say... tell me who a great photographer is" and they listen to that more than just an advertisement.
People want to work with businesses that their neighbours work with and trust. Nextdoor provides a platform to facilitate that. If you are looking to expand your local presence, look no further than Nextdoor.
Local business owners, casual service providers, and home service providers can all participate on Nextdoor. To list your business, first create or claim your Business Page that displays basic information about your business or services. If you offer casual goods or services (dog walking, babysitting) you will need official business documents to verify your Business Page in order to post messages to the nearby neighbourhood newsfeed. If you do not have these business documents, you can promote your services from your member account using the new “Neighbour Made” or “Neighbour Services” options. Learn more here.
