Create your first ad in a few simple steps

1) Choose your goal

Decide what you want your advertising campaign to do for you and your business: promote your business, send people to your website, or get more direct messages or calls.

2) Build and target your ad

Define who you’d like to see your ads by selecting specific locations, demographics, and interests.

3) Pay and publish

Choose a daily budget. The daily budget will be multiplied by 30 to determine your monthly charge. This full monthly amount will be charged upfront upon ad approval and will automatically renew each month until cancelled.

Should you decide to cancel, your ad will stop running at the end of your current 30-day billing period, and you won't be charged again.

How do I create an ad?

Local businesses can create ads on Nextdoor from their Business Page.

  • Sign in to your business account and select the Ads tab.

  • Select a goal.
    Promote your business, increase website visit, or get more direct messages or calls.

  • Create your ad.
    Upload your logo and ad image, add headline and body copy either manually or by using the AI-powered Campaign Assistant to automatically generate copy. Review your ad and select Next to continue.

  • Choose your target audience.
    Set who you want to reach by location, demographic, or interest specification.

  • Set your budget.
    Choose a daily budget – you'll be charged for 30 days upfront (your daily budget multiplied by 30). Your account will then be automatically charged the same amount every 30 days thereafter, ensuring your ad runs without interruption. Should you decide to cancel, your ad will stop running at the end of your current 30-day billing period, and you won't be charged again.

  • Review, add payment, and publish.

From your ads dashboard, you can check on the status and performance of your ad or edit/cancel your ad at any time.

How do I cancel my ads?

Canceling and rerunning your ads is simple: 

  • Sign in to your business account and navigate to the Ads tab.

  • Select the ad you would like to cancel by clicking on the 3 dots next to the ad and choose “edit”.

  • On the Edit Campaign screen, select “Cancel Subscription”.

If you cancel, your ad will run until the end of the current 30-day billing cycle and there will be no further charges for that ad.

To access the ad copy you wish to edit, simply navigate to the Ads tab from your business profile. Select the ad you would like to cancel by clicking on the 3 dots next to the ad and choose “edit”.
