Phil has been using Apple Mac computers since 1984 and is a self-confessed aficionado. Having spent time helping companies with their tech support, he wanted to do this on a self-employed basis and set up ‘TekWizard’ with his partner, Pippa.
Tekwizard provides software support for people who use Apple Mac computers and is based out of New Forest, Hampshire, where they can combine their love of Apple Macs with their New Forest ponies. Through neighbour recommendations, they’ve now grown a thriving local business.
How have you used Nextdoor to grow your business?
“We tried out various other companies including Google ads, Yell.com, as well as local leaflets through people’s doors but nothing has compared to Nextdoor”.
“When we created our Nextdoor Business Page, we added as much additional information as we could such as company details, how we can help Mac users, links to our website, etc., and photos to show we are real people.”
Why do you think Nextdoor has worked so well for your local business?
What would you say to other businesses who are thinking of joining Nextdoor?
“There’s nothing to lose! We would recommend filling in as much information as you can and adding a link to your website if you have one. Try it out!”
What does community mean for your business?
“Community means trust. If people trust you then they will give you their custom and if you do a good job they will come back.”
“We think of our customers like family, we even say “welcome to the TekWizard family!” when new customers use our services. We give free information and advice, it’s how we would treat a family member.”
