Renewal by Andersen of Portland custom-makes beautiful, energy efficient composite windows and professionally installs them. The company’s marketing efforts span most channels – they do television ads, mailers, magazines, canvassing, and attend or host at least 300 events each year, and they’re finding their presence on Nextdoor to be highly influential.
With an impressive reputation on Nextdoor – and 97 customer recommendations to prove it – Tim Treholme, the company’s digital marketing manager, turned to Nextdoor’s Local Deals to promote a deal on windows and patio doors to local neighborhoods.
“There’s no other platform like Nextdoor,” Tim says. “Neighbors believe and can even see what’s happening in their own neighborhoods – and what they see their neighbors doing is often very influential in their own purchase decisions. In fact, each install we do is like adding a showroom to the community that neighbors see every day.”
The company found that leads from Nextdoor’s Local Deals closed at 44%.
In setting up their first Local Deal to further expand their local marketing efforts, Tim found the experience to be quite simple. To him, it was just a matter of selecting which areas to promote their deal through Nextdoor’s neighborhood targeting. He also set up a unique phone number and landing page to include in his Local Deal, and was able to closely track how many new customers they received as a result.
“The ROI with Nextdoor [Local Deals] is better than we’ve seen with other channels. We get warm leads from people who are already interested, and we’ve found that those leads close at a much higher rate than other channels,” Tim says. “In fact, leads on Nextdoor close at about 44%. That’s a pretty high conversion rate. We attribute that success to the power of recommendations from neighbors.”
Renewal by Andersen of Portland used Local Deals to promote a discount on replacement windows and patio doors to local neighborhoods.
Tim plans to continue using Nextdoor as one of Renewal by Andersen of Portland’s main advertising channels. Asked if he would recommend Local Deals to other local businesses, here’s what Tim had to say: “Absolutely! I feel like, if you’re a local business and do quality work and want to get your name out into neighborhoods, it’s an easy, simple way to do it.”
