Webinar: Applying behavioral insights to increase COVID-19 vaccine uptake

Mar 3, 2021 • News and Press • Written by Public Agency Team

I am pleased to announce that Nextdoor has partnered with the Behavior Insights Team to bring our government partners and all government communicators a webinar titled “Applying behavioral insights to increase COVID-19 vaccine uptake.”

Please join us on March 10th at 12:00 pm ET / 9:00 am PT by registering here.

To take a major step towards getting back to normal, it’s crucial that a minimum of 70% of the population receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Yet, up to 3 in 10 Americans may not get the vaccine when it’s made available to them. Government leaders at all levels have a critical role in communicating confidence and support for the Covid-19 vaccine to their communities.

New research from The Behavioral Insights Team (BIT) shows that effective messaging can increase willingness to get the Covid-19 vaccine. Using five large randomized controlled studies and feedback from 15 focus groups, BIT tested four messages with 30,000+ people and found that each one increased confidence and willingness to vaccinate, including for at-risk groups.

In this webinar, Joseph Porcelli, Nextdoor’s Global Public Agency Lead will interview Carolina Toth, Principal Advisor at BIT, about the results and other evidence-based guidance to inform public agencies’ vaccine messaging campaigns. They will cover questions like:

  • What strategies and tactics have proven to work for which cohorts of the population?
  • What resources are available to help you to help craft convincing messaging?
  • What are the best practices for communicating these messages on Nextdoor?

This webinar is open to all Government Communicators. Click here to register.
