For the third year in a row, H&R Block and Nextdoor are making every block better, and it could start with yours! Through the Make Every Block Better initiative, neighbors can nominate projects that enhance, connect, and uplift their communities.

It could be a park renewal, neighborhood beautification, area cleanup, community garden, or something so far out of the box we haven’t even thought of it yet (but we definitely want to hear about it!). Last year, neighbors from all 50 states submitted more than 1,500 projects. We selected 10 projects, including a giant mural, park revitalizations, community gardens, a basketball court and more. These upgrades helped connect neighbors and allowed communities to shine a little brighter in 2021.
For each specific project, H&R Block and Nextdoor use local businesses to help complete the job, whether it’s community support or shopping at independent stores. On top of that, this year, H&R Block associates are getting involved by putting up flyers at their office locations and posting about the program on their Nextdoor neighborhood newsfeeds.
