Total Wine & More is America’s Wine Superstore — the country’s largest independent wine seller, with over 190 locations. Through tastings, classes, and events, each store invites its customers to truly experience wine.

 

Objective

The Total Wine team set out to achieve two goals: build awareness of store grand openings, and drive holiday sales in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Solution

Total Wine & More used Sponsored Posts to target customers based on location by geo-targeting neighborhoods near new stores. They leveraged dynamic local ads to substitute the name of the Nextdoor neighborhood in the post, to further capture attention. Even more, they followed creative best practices with timely seasonal creative to increase consideration.

By targeting areas where their new stores were opening — Total Wine was able to successfully drive in-store traffic and sales. Nextdoor helped Total Wine reach over 20% of households in the cities they targeted, with a 0.3% CTR and strong 3% engagement rate.
