Nextdoor’s 2022 Neighborhood Favorites are here! For the sixth consecutive year, Neighborhood Favorites awards local businesses that have been voted by real neighbors who live in the community.

The 2022 Neighborhood Favorites is a time to recognize and support the small businesses that are helping build strong neighborhoods. We reached out to the Nextdoor community to encourage neighbors to vote for their favorite local spots and share why they love them.  Today, we are thrilled to announce the winning businesses in your city are now available at nextdoor.com/favorites.

This year, the top 10 winners nationwide will be awarded a $500 credit in Nextdoor Ads to help continue growing their business. Take a look at the most-loved favorites across the country:

  1. Bill Howe Plumbing, Heating and Air, Restoration and Flood: San Diego, CA
  2. Nino's Bakery & Restaurant: Punta Gorda, FL

The leading category of 2022 winners was home service providers followed by go-to restaurants, pet care, and pizza places1. There are over 55 million global business recommendations on Nextdoor and only 2% of all U.S. businesses on the platform were named as a 2022 Neighborhood Favorite2. It is a true honor, and good for business, to be voted by your most loyal customers — neighbors.

What does it take to be a winner?  Based on the recommendations on our winners' Business Pages, Neighbor Favorites have the following in common:

1.  Showing up on time matters, especially for home services businesses

Punctuality is a demonstration of professionalism and reliability.  Many homeowners clear their schedules for service appointments, and arriving on time shows dedication to the job.

2.  Deliver excellent service

Getting the job done isn't enough.  Neighborhood Favorites go above and beyond with superior service because they take pride in their work.   Neighbors appreciate the winners' attention to detail, commitment to quality, and results that exceed expectations.

3. Offer signature or specialty items

Many restaurant winners offer signature dishes that attract a loyal following.  Specialty items differentiate you from the competition and increases word-of-mouth buzz.  After all, your customers can't get your specialized product or services anywhere else.

4.  Repeat customers recommend their businesses

Winners have satisfied customers who come back for more and recommend their business on Nextdoor.   Neighbors often come to Nextdoor when they’re ready to make a purchase or hire for a service, and they ask each other for recommendations.  72% of Nextdoor neighbors have been influenced by a business recommendation3.

All Neighborhood Favorites winners have been awarded a trophy badge on Nextdoor for greater visibility.
