What does it cost to join Nextdoor?

Nextdoor is free to join as a neighbor and a business. You can claim and set up a free business page, which will help you get discovered locally. Verified businesses can also post for free twice per month to engage their local community. If you're interested in promoting your business beyond your immediate local, we offer paid advertisements via Nextdoor Ads.

Do you have to download the Nextdoor app to join as a business, or can you get set up on a computer? 

Businesses can use Nextdoor on the web or via the app. If you're a business that tends to be on the go, we recommend you use the app and turn notifications on so that you never miss a customer message or recommendation. 

Is Nextdoor exclusively for brick and mortar businesses? 

Nextdoor is a terrific platform for all local businesses, whether you're a brick-and-mortar business or a service provider. Some of the most popular categories that neighbors come to Nextdoor for are: restaurants, home & garden businesses, realtors, retail, and wellness. 

When claiming a business page, you will need to provide an address, but this can be your home address if you do not have a brick-and-mortar location. You can hide your address from your public business page. 

I have multiple locations. How do I get set up? 

On Nextdoor, you can claim a page for each of your locations so that neighbors in each area can discover you. If you already have a Nextdoor account, you can add up to 10 pages to that account. This will allow you to use one email and password combination to log-in to your account and switch between your various business pages. Alternatively, if you prefer to separate your pages under different accounts, you can create a new business account for each page using different emails. 

I have duplicate business pages. How can I combine them?

How do I verify my business? 

Follow these instructions to verify your business. 

If I work for a business but have autonomy as if it was my own, how do I verify? 

You can verify by providing our support team with government-issued documentation that will help us confirm that your business is in fact a real business. Follow these instructions to get started.  

How many photos do you recommend adding to your business page gallery? 

We recommend adding photos that highlight your businesses. There’s no right number, but usually, 3-8 pictures work. Continue to update your pictures and refresh with new projects or products. 

I do not see a category that matches my business offering. Is it possible to create my own category? 

At this time, we do not have a way for businesses to customize their own category. However, we will share this feedback with our product team. In the meantime, we recommend picking one or more categories that are as close to your business offerings as possible. On your business page, you can clarify your offerings in the "Our story" section and through your photo gallery. 

Can someone leave a recommendation even if they don’t have a Nextdoor account or have the app?

You first need to join Nextdoor to leave a recommendation, which helps reinforce the value of being hyper-local and the trust neighbors see from joining Nextdoor. By having your customers join Nextdoor they can provide a recommendation for your business and gain value from joining their Nextdoor community and recommending you to other neighbors who are looking for your services. 

How do you access free business posts? 

To access your free business posts, log-in to your Nextdoor business page and navigate to the Content tab. Here you should see the option to create a post. 

You must be verified to access your free posts so if you do not see the option to create posts under the Content tab, head to Settings to send in documentation to our support team.

When neighbors like your post can you engage with them? 

We highly recommend that you engage with any customers who comment on your posts, leave you a recommendation, or reach out via direct message. 

Where can we find advertising pricing and options?

Nextdoor recently launched a new advertising experience called Nextdoor Ads. The pricing of ads is dependent on two selections - your daily budget and ad duration. This gives you full control over how much you spend so that you never exceed your marketing budget. Learn more about how budgeting works here

How can I target specific zip codes in the new Nextdoor Ads? 

At this time, Nextdoor Ads offers radius targeting up to 30 miles from your business. Our team is working on adding zip code targeting in the near future. 

How can we get in touch with Nextdoor for help? 

We first recommend that you visit our Help center, which has a dedicated business section with answers to a majority of questions.
